11/7/2022 0 Comments Nesco roast air oven manual![]() ![]() OK I did use it a couple times and I regret it. I've runied enough bakeware from using that garbage and won't on either of my Nescos. That stuff should be outlawed in my opinion. The easiest way I found is get it hot, pour in a little oil and take a paper towel - use tongs if fingers are tender and brush it around. It's not unlike the grates on your grill need to be oiled and seasoned. I found that oiling the cookwell is very important to help make it more non-stick shall we say? If you season the cookwell properly it will be much easier to clean up. Was going to just say if you can do it in an oven or slow-cooker do it in the roaster oven, but. I was going to link to the Nesco recipe site, but too slow. It's so much more accurate to remember it's a small oven. ![]() The biggest problem with a roaster oven is people think of it as a slow-cooker only. Thanks in advance for any wisdom you may share, Just would like some more recipes/ideas/ways to use it. I do believe I am gonna just love this little oven. :) Do you preheat yours? I didn't when I cooked the chicken, but then I was just winging it. I am not sure I want to lightly oil a pan that has been preheated to 400 degrees!! Must be a trick to that maneuver that I am unaware of. Some directions also say to lightly oil the cookwell and/or rack before putting the food in. Now to my question, would you guys be willing to share what you cook in the 6 Qt and at what temperature? Recipes, general directions, and such?Īlso, the guide says to pre-heat the oven then place your food in the cookwell. Just kinda winged it and cooked at 350 for about 30 minutes. Based partially on all those discussions I purchased the Nesco 6 qt roaster, it arrived on Wednesday, after doing the "burn off" on Thursday, I cooked 3 big chicken breasts to perfection for chicken salad. Roaster Oven, the last of which was just last week. There have been at least 3 discussions this past year on Crock Pot vs. ![]()
